Hey!

First of all, congratulations! The newborn stage really is my favorite. It can be exhausting, but it’s also fleeting. Also, thank you for choosing me to be your fresh 48 photographer. It does not escape me that fresh 48 pictures are a luxury and an investment. It is a vulnerable time during those first few hours as everyone begins to heal, bond with the new baby, and figure out your new ‘normal’, but together we will create images that captures the connection and bonding with your brand new human.

I want this to be laidback and stress free for everyone, and I think we can totally do that. There are a few things that you can do to prepare for the shoot to insure that everything goes smoothly.

  • If we haven’t already and you would like to meet face to face before you’re due, we can meet up for coffee or fro-yo if you want!

  • Do not worry about cleaning. I am coming into your birth space during a time when so many other things are important. If there are things that need to be moved because they will be distracting in the shot, I will gladly tidy up.

  • The shoot will likely take place less than 24 hours after birth. For the best results mom and babe need to be as comfortable as possible. I would not worry about hair and makeup as much as comfort. For some that might be showering, a little bit of makeup, and doing your hair, but if you’re like me laying in bed with your hair pulled back while holding your new little human might be what you need.

  • As far as what to wear, wear what is comfortable. If you are planning on buying something special you and or the baby keep in mind that many of the pictures will be you holding the baby. For best results keep fabrics simple and coordinated, but not matching. But ultimately, what you wear is up to you. :)

  • Don’t forget to dress dad. Dads are usually looking for comfort, too. For your pictures though, you may want to stay away from t-shirts with logos. Keep them simple and neutral and comfortable. The same goes for any siblings that might be meeting their sibling for the first time. Simple comfort!

  • If this is not your first child, you probably have been preparing older siblings for the baby that they will soon meet. How they greet your newest addition can vary. Let any siblings know that the family will be having pictures taken with the new baby, and that your friend Nicole is excited to see them, and wants to spend some time taking pictures for your family. I will make sure to introduce myself to all of the children before we begin the session. This could be extremely helpful if you have a child that is a little more timid or shy. You can show them a picture of me from my website if you think that could be helpful. If the first meeting between siblings is not all warm and fuzzy as you might have hope, believe me, it’s fine. We will give them space. Affections can be on their terms.

  • How the session unfolds will be dictated by the baby and a close second the mother. I have a mental flow for how things “should” go, but the baby’s needs are my number one priority. Feeding, changing, being held will be dictated by the new little human. Mom is healing and managing all the hormones that comes along with growing and delivering a baby. It’s important that she’s comfortable too.

  • After the session is over, I will post a sneak peek of your session on my Facebook page. Feel free to like and share the post with your friends and family. The post is usually posted with in 72 hours of the shoot.

  • Your entire gallery will be delivered to you via email within four weeks from the shoot. I guarantee 40 pictures. You will have access to the gallery for three weeks. You can share the gallery with friends and family. To keep it simple anyone can order prints from the gallery. The whole gallery is downloadable, however. You will have printing rights if you do not wish to order from the gallery. I do suggest finding a quality printer, because it can alter the quality of the images.

  • After the whole experience, I hope you are satisfied and feel compelled to leave a review. You may also share your images on social media. I hope you will, and if you do I would appreciated at tag. Your words are valuable, not only for others to find me, but also for me to make sure that I am truly giving my families an experience that they are completely happy with.

I cannot wait to work with you and your growing family. Every single family I work with has a very special place in my heart. Being able to provide an experience and pictures that you will cherish bring me so much joy.
