Hey, Momma!
First of all, thank you for choosing me to be your maternity photographer. It does not escape me that maternity and newborn pictures are a luxury and an investment. This is a beautiful time that doesn’t always feel so beautiful, but you know any aches, pains, or swelling will be worth it. Together, we will create images that captures the beauty of growing life. This time goes by so quickly, pregnancy and the newborn stage. You’ll be so glad you planned to document this beautiful time.
I want this to be laidback and fun for everyone, and I think we can totally do that. There are a few things that you can do to prepare for the shoot to insure that everything goes smoothly.
Your family is welcome to be apart of the shoot. Keep the day of the session the big event of the day. Having a big activity earlier in the day could easily wear the family out, especially if you have young children.
To add on to that, if there are young children try to get all the naps in and make sure everyone is fed, or a least a decent snack before if you are planning to go out to dinner after our session. I know several of my families do like to go eat afterwards. Naps and food I know are a no brainer, but sometimes the day can get away from us.
Again, if there are kids coming to the maternity shoot, let the kids know that you will be having pictures taken. Let them know that your friend Nicole is excited to see them, and wants to spend some time taking pictures for your family. I will make sure to introduce myself to all of the children before we begin the session. This could be extremely helpful if you have a child that is a little more timid or shy. You can show them a picture of me from my website if you think that could be helpful.
As you can tell from my portfolio, I’m not “everyone look at the camera” type of photographer. I actually prefer no one looking at the camera, especially the adults. I will try to get the “grandma shot”, but to me that’s not where the magic is. I love movement and connection.
I’ve had people ask about changing during a session. I am fine with a wardrobe change. We will only have so much time so changing will eat into you session. I do not have a pop up changing room like some photographers for extra privacy, but I have had mothers choose maternity dresses that were easy to slip on and off quickly. The choice is yours!
Speaking of clothes, when picking an outfit the two big things is make sure you are comfortable, and make sure you love it. Once Mom has an outfit, then dress everyone else!
After the session is over, I will post a sneak peek of your session on my Facebook page. Feel free to like and share the post with your friends and family. The post is usually posted within 72 hours after the shoot.
Your entire gallery will be delivered to you via email within four weeks from the shoot. I guarantee 40 pictures. You will have access to the gallery for three weeks. You can share the gallery with friends and family. Anyone can order prints from the gallery if they wish. The whole gallery is downloadable. You will have printing rights if you do not wish to print from the gallery. I do suggest finding a quality printer, because it can alter the quality of the images.
After the whole experience, I hope you are satisfied and feel compelled to leave a review. You may also share your images on social media. I hope you will, and if you do I would appreciated at tag. Your words are valuable, not only for others to find me, but also for me to make sure that I am truly giving my families an experience that they are completely happy with.
I cannot wait to work with you and your family. Being able to provide an experience and pictures that you will cherish bring me so much joy.
