Hey!

First of all, congratulations! The newborn stage honestly is my favorite. It can be exhausting, but it’s also fleeting. So, thank you for choosing me to be your newborn photographer. It does not escape me that newborn pictures are a luxury and an investment. Those first couple of weeks is a vulnerable time as Mom heals and everyone adjusts to the new baby, but together we will create images that captures the connection and bonding with the brand new human in family.

I want this to be laidback and stress free for everyone, and I think we can totally do that. There are a few things that you can do to prepare for the shoot to insure that everything goes smoothly.

  • Get in touch with me after you have the baby so we can arrange a date for your session. The beauty with being an in home session is we have a bit more wiggle room as to when the session is held. I do prefer to do the session within the first 15 days of life, but if you want some more time to heal and be comfortable it’s fine by me. Keep in mind, the older the baby get the more alert they become.

  • Do not worry about cleaning. I am coming into your home during a time when so many other things are important. If there are things that needs to be moved because they will be distracting in the shot, I will gladly move them.

  • Let any siblings know that the family will be having pictures taken with the new baby. Let them know that your friend Nicole is excited to see them, and wants to spend some time taking pictures for your family. I will make sure to introduce myself to all of the children before we begin the session. This could be extremely helpful if you have a child that is a little more timid or shy. You can show them a picture of me from my website if you think that could be helpful.

  • Many people ask for input on what to wear. Where what is comfortable! You may want to stay way from shirts with big logos on the front, but you are in your home and you should be comfortable. Colors can coordinate, but don’t over think it. For the baby a solid color onesie I find perfect for newborn session. If you have a particular outfit in mind we can definitely take pictures in it, but have a onesie ready.

  • For sessions I look for the light in your home. Most often, the session will be taken in the master bedroom taking pictures on the bed. The comforter may get pulled back for pictures on the sheets if the session takes place in the master bedroom.

  • How the session unfolds will be dictated by the baby and a close second the mother. I have a mental flow for how things “should” go, but the baby’s needs are my number one priority. Feeding, changing, being held will be dictated by the new little human. Mom is still healing and managing all the hormones that comes along with growing and delivering a baby. It’s important that she’s comfortable too.

  • After the session is over, I will post a sneak peek of your session on my Facebook page. Feel free to like and share the post with your friends and family. The post is usually up with in 72 hours of the shoot.

  • Your entire gallery will be delivered to you via email within four weeks from the shoot. I guarantee 40 pictures. You will have access to the gallery for four weeks. You can share the gallery with friends and family. To keep it simple anyone can order prints from the gallery. The whole gallery is downloadable, however. You will have printing rights if you wish to print elsewhere. I do suggest finding a quality printer, because it can alter the quality of the images.

  • After the whole experience, I hope you are satisfied and feel compelled to leave a review. You may also share your images on social media. I hope you will, and if you do I would appreciated at tag. Your words a valuable, not only for others to find me, but also for me to make sure that I am truly giving my families an experience that they are completely happy with.

I cannot wait to work with you and your growing family. Every single family I work with has a very special place in my heart. Being able to provide an experience and pictures that you will cherish bring me so much joy.
